Shontelle is a Partner of George Walton Payne & Co. and is the head of the Personal Injury Department.
Shontelle graduated from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus with a Bachelor of Laws degree with Upper Second Class Honours in 2004.
She obtained her Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and was called to the Bar in Barbados in 2006. Shontelle joined the firm, George Walton Payne & Co., upon her admission.
Shontelle has had the distinction of being awarded the Carrington & Sealy Law Scholarship and was the recipient of the George Walton Payne & Co. Scholarship Trust.
Shontelle is also obtained her Master of Laws degree in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of West Indies in 2014.
During her fifteen (15) years’ practice, Shontelle developed her expertise in the areas of corporate and commercial law working on a number of regional and international corporate and commercial transactions including, but not limited to, cross border financings, cross border insolvency and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions as well as rendering general corporate advice. She also sat on the Board of Substance Abuse from 2007 – 2009.
She has also received a Certificate in Mediation in 2006 after completing an intensive alternative dispute resolution clinical programme that placed particular emphasis on negotiation and mediation skills.
