Shontelle N. Murrell-Hinkson

Shontelle is a highly qualified and experienced Attorney-at-Law with twenty (20) years’ experience spanning the full spectrum of civil practice including, but not limited to, local, regional and international corporate transactional services such as cross border financings, corporate insolvency, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions.

Overview

Shontelle holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours as well as a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. In addition, she obtained her legal education certification from the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago as well as certification in Mediation having completed an intensive alternative dispute resolution clinical program placing emphasis on negotiation and mediation skills.

Over the years, Shontelle has acted as principal Barbados legal adviser on a number of regional and international transactions, coordinated multi-jurisdictional corporate transactions for both domestic and international corporate clients and has used commercial acumen to draft and/or negotiate the necessary legal documentation to ensure the successful conclusion of such transactions.

Shontelle also renders general corporate advice in anti-money laundering (AML), regulatory compliance and governance matters. She has also sat on numerous private and public boards in the capacity of Director and/or Corporate Secretary. More recently, Shontelle has presented to several statutory boards of Barbados on Corporate Governance and Accountability.

In addition, Shontelle leads the Immigration and Personal Injury practice of the Firm.
