Akeem D. Rowe

Akeem joined the firm as an Associate in 2020. He practises specifically in civil and commercial litigation, intellectual property, employment law, family law and estates law.

Overview

Akeem graduated from Queen’s College in 2014 with an Associate Degree in Business. He continued his studies at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados where he graduated in 2017, obtaining a Bachelor of Laws degree, Ll. B (Hons). In 2019 he obtained his Legal Education Certificate, an Intellectual Property Law Certificate from the Intellectual Property Office of Trinidad and Tobago, a LexisNexis® Basic and Advanced Research Certificate from LexisNexis and a Mediation Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School. Akeem is currently pursuing his Masters in Intellectual Property from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados. 

During his time at the Hugh Wooding Law School Akeem served as the Vice President of the Sports Committee and Treasurer of the Barbados Students’ Committee. 

Akeem was the recipient of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus’ Track and Field Scholarship in 2015. He was also awarded the Barbados Bar Association’s Prize for the Best Performance by a Student from Barbados and was placed on the Principal’s Honour Roll at the Hugh Wooding Law School in 2019.

Outside of the firm, Akeem is the Immediate Past President of the Leo Club of Barbados East, which is a Sponsored Affiliate Service Organization of Lions Club International. In 2021, Akeem was recognised by Lions Club International and awarded the designation ‘Melvin Jones Fellow’ for his dedication to humanitarian services as President of the Leo Club of Barbados East in the 2020/2021 Lionistic Year. Akeem enjoys reading, writing poetry and playing various sports in his free time.
