Shaddiah L. Hinds

Shaddiah joined the firm as an Associate in 2020. Shaddiah graduated from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus with a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours in 2018. She later obtained her Legal Education Certificate with Merit from the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago in 2020.

Overview

She practices in a wide range of areas including conveyancing, family, employment, litigation, and estate law.

During her studies at Cave Hill, she was a six-time recipient of the Dean’s List Award, having maintained a GPA of 3.6 and above in each semester of the programme. She was involved in extracurricular activities including the Clarke Gittens Farmer Mooting Competition, the Constitutional Reform Committee and the Law Society Executive Committee. 

Shaddiah was the 2018 recipient of the George Walton Payne & Co. Scholarship and completed her in-service training with that firm the following year.

Shaddiah’s academic achievements continued at the Hugh Wooding Law School where she accumulated numerous awards, viz

  • the Council of Legal Education Prize for Most Outstanding Year 1 Student
  • the Book Specialist Prize for Most Outstanding Year 1 Student
  • the Council of Legal Education’s Prize for Most Outstanding Student
  • the Fitzwilliam Stone, Furness-Smith & Morgan Prize for Best Performance in Civil Procedure and Practice II
  • the Chairman’s Prize for Evidence & Forensic Medicine, Law of Remedies and Civil Procedure & Practice II
  • the Barbados Bar Association’s Prize for the Best Performance by a Student from Barbados
  • the George Walton Payne & Co. Scholarship

Shaddiah has dedicated herself to achieving favourable outcomes for her clients across a range of legal matters, navigating complex legal issues, resolving legal disputes, and developing personalised strategies that meet each client’s specific needs.

Outside of the firm, Shaddiah enjoys watching cricket and reading in her spare time. 

As a proud alumna of Queen’s College, Shaddiah intends to embody the school’s motto and to carry the light throughout her legal career.
